And more
Today I decided to post something that would fit under the and more title of my blog. This is the back of my newly redecorated phone case. I used blues rinestones from one of my old cases and I had these rinestone stickers (the butterfly and rose) that I decided to use.
This took me a long while and I really hope it lasts. I really really like it and enjoyed making it way too much. The only rinestones I hand applied were the blue ones. The others were body jewelry stickers that I got from my cousin. And to think she didn't want them, well I'm glad she didnt.
I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished and bejeweled summer!!!

Gothic Flowers
Needed:
- Black polish (Blackmail by Wet n Wild megalast)
- Baby blue polish (Vintage Blue by Avon)
- Dark Blue polish (Carnation Creation by Fingerpaints)
- Dotting tool (mine's a pencil with a dressmaker pin in the eraser)
- Base coat (Kiss sheer pink)
This was a really simple and easy mani. I did this because I've been addicted to short dark nails. Before this I let my nails get pretty long, but long nails tend to be a pain to text and type with so yesterday I cut them cause I could no longer handle them.
I used to always have really long nails but ever since I got a smartphone they are no longer practical.
So first I used my base coat. ALWAYS use a BASE COAT when putting on DARK POLISHES, otherwise your nails will get stained and you will have to hide them behind potent polishes until they grow out. Thats not a problem for polish addicts like myself, but not everyone can have polish on all the time.
Next I applies three layers of Blackmail. This is a great black polish with micro orange and green glitter in a dark grey jelly base. Two coats worked just as well but i was painting over my last mani that had bright yellow and I wanted an extra coat just in case.
I absolutely love this color and the application is a total breeze. Plus it's pretty shiny without a top coat. Which is why I didnt even bother applying one with this mani.
Lastly I finished my mani off by using my dotting tool and using Vintage Blue to make five dots in a circle pattern that would be the petals. I made two full flowers and one partial one to cover the nail but still show the color.
I put dots in the middle of the petals with Carnation Creation and whoola, I was finished. I thought the flowers finished this design perfectly. I was tempted to put purple flowers on my other nails but I liked them to much already so I just stopped here.
I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer!!!!

Silver and Gold
Needed:
- Silver metallic polish (Silver by Icing)
- Gold glitter (Nailicious Gold Rush)
- Top Coat
I really wish I had taken a better pic of this mani but sadly I didnt so these are the best i got. This is a really simple mani that can be done in less than half an hour, no joke.
First apply your metallic silver until its opaque. The one I used only takes one coat surprisingly. Let that dry.
Next apply the gold glitter. I just used my brush and did three strokes. One half way, the next half that amount and the last only at the tips. If you prefer you can sponge it on and get a similar look.
Lastly apply a top coat so that the color of the glitter doesn't fade. (That has happened to me quite a lot so I highly recommend this step.)
I actually wore this mani for Christmas. I thought of it because of the song in Rudolph the red nose Reindeer, which is by far my fav Christmas movie, where the snowman sings about silver and gold decorations on every christmas tree. It was a great mani for an nontraditional christmas look.

Glitter Sammich
Needed:
- Sheer Polish (OPI Bubble Bath)
- Glitter Polish (Wet n Wild Crystal)
- Glitter Polish (Wet n Wild Kaleidoscope)
- Top Coat (Clear)
This is the simple breakdown of the coats used for this mani:
- Two coats of Bubble bath
- One coat Crystal
- One coat Wild Kaleidoscope
- One coat Bubble Bath
- One coat Wild Kaleidoscope
- Two coats Bubble Bath
- Top Coat
I used two glitters cause Crystal is more hexagons and hard to get out while the other one comes out easily and was colorful, which i really like. Another great thing about glitter sandwiches is that they look good with both short nails and long nails. I originally saw this on a different blog and the girl had long square nails and it still looked gorgeous.
There are ways to do this mani without so many coats. If you start with a mostly opaque base and then put a potent glitter and one or two coats of a sheer over you can get a similar effect with less time spent.

Favorite Nail Polishes
Today I decided instead of showing you a mani I'd show you the wonderful products that are a must for many of my favorite manis. So lets begin.
This was the first Essie I ever used and I love the color. Its a baby pink that has a subtle purple tint. The only part I dont like is that it takes three coats to make opaque.
Twilight by Orly is one of my all time favorites. The fact that I got it on sale and it came with a little nail file was a bonus. I use this as a top coat, a glitter and as a base for french manis. It drys super fast and isnt't an overpowering glitter. It also hides bubbles that may appear in nail polish if you don't want to redo them.
OPI Bubble Bath. This is another polish I use for everything. It's also something I use as a base coat if I dont have anything else to use. It dries fast and is a great french base and makes a great glitter sandwhich. Though it's impossible to make opaque.
Last Friday Night. This polish is amazing. Its such a pretty glitter that packs quite a punch. It has this amazing different size and shape glitter and the lightest blue base that gives it a glow. I've used this so many times and every time I love it even more.
That's a few of my favorite polishes and feel free to comment with your own below. I did get all the pictures off google because my phone camera does not do these polishes justice. Thank you for reading. Have a great day!!!

Summery Tips
Needed:
- Post its
- Blue polish (fingerpaints)
- Bright green polish (fingerpaints)
- White polish (striper)
- Silver polish (striper)
- Base coat (Kiss, sheer pink)
- Rainbow glitter (unknown brand)
These were really easy and fun to create. Now you may be wondering about the post it notes. I used them like striping tape to keep the lines straight and crisp. The advantage is it covers more of the nail, so you don't paint what you don't want to, and it doesn't stick and ruin the base coat.
I first did one diagonal line with the green and then went the other way with the blue after the green had dried.
Then I outlined the bottom of the v and the line in between the blue and green with my white striper. I followed with silver to give it more of a punch. I left the white visible on my ring finger so that it looked a tad different but not much.
Lastly I went over the tip with a glitter polish that I got from walmart a while back. It gave it a glitzy look and made it even more perfect for summer. Its def a great way to make the summer months even more enjoyable.

News Print Nails without a kit
Needed:
- Newspaper
- Base coat (preppy purple by Icing)
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Top Coat
- Qtip or puff ball
First things first, you DO NOT NEED A KIT for newsprint nails. All you need are the materials listed above. You dont even need that steady of a nail. I couldnt believe it when I saw that a nail polish brand made a kit to create these nails. And the price was way higher then it needed to be.
1) Paint your nails a light base color. It has to be light so you can see the letters. Make sure your nails are 100 percent dry before moving on to the next step.
2) Cut out small pieces of newspaper that will cover your whole nail. Don't make them too big cause they'll be difficult to work with then.
3) Now you can either soak your nail quickly in the rubbing alcohol then use the q tip or puffball to push down the newspaper to the nail. Or just wet the q tip or puffball and use that to dowse the newspaper while its on your nail. Think of it like putting on a temporary tattoo, you have to get the newspaper thoroughly wet with the rubbing alcohol and pull off slowly so you don't smudge the writing.
4) Apply clear coat. You MUST seal the design with a clear coat or it will smudge. It will also make the letters appear darker.
Don't be afraid to tilt the newspaper at different angles or use large words or letters for some nails and small ones for others. Either way you get an awesome mani and no matter how you do it, it will defeinently be unique.

Black Chevron Tips
Needed:
- Base coat (Hoof Hands 'In the Nude' tip pen)
- Black Striper
- Black polish (Claire's black)
- Glitter polish with medium sized hexagons
- Top Coat
- wooden chop stick
For this mani I didn't put an actual base since the base for my mani was nude and wouldn't affect my nails. Even though my base color was actually a tip pen I used it as a base because I loved the color and needed something that would match my dress and greatly contrast with the the black polish. It has an angled chisel tip so it was easy to cover the nail and dried very fast.
I then used my striper to draw an x that would be the outline of the chevron tip. I used a regular black polish to fill them in cause it took less time.
Last was the hard part. I used my glitter polish and painted some on a sheet of paper. While still wet I fished out the hexagons one at a time and placed them on my tips. The wooden stick works the best cause it picks up the glitter easily and is inexpensive. Just make sure that you clean them after each mani with nail polish remover.
I loved this mani and got tons of compliments at prom. I will probably do it again with a different color scheme cause I liked it so much.

Cross Hatched Tips
Needed:
- base coat (white)
- light glitter (Twilight by Orly)
- Pink striper
- black striper
- pink and silver glitter (wet n wild sparkler)
Well this mani was really easy. I started with two coats of Milan white. Its so far the best white I own. Then I used a coat of Orly Twilight to give the white a little sparkle. You cant really tell in the picture but it does give it a little more depth.
Also ALWAYS put a base coat under a potent nail polish. Otherwise youll nails will reflect that color for awhile. Even after you take the polish off.
Then I took my black striper and did x across the tip. I then used the pink striper and put a few lines and xs on top of the black ones. Lastly I finished bu put a coat of sparkler on the tips only to seal the color and add a little glitter.
I really love this mani. Its simple yet cute and bright.

pastel dots and stripes
Needed:
This was one of my favorite mani i have ever done. By the tools needed you can pretty much tell what I did so I'll skip that part. I really loved the color of this Essie polish but the fact that it took three coats to be opaque made me a little sad. Though I love the color and I'll probably try more essies in the future. Though there new bottles arent as nice as the old ones were.

French with a Glitter
Needed:
- Base coat (Twilight by Orly)
- Half moon glitter (Last Friday Night by OPI)
- White polish or striper
For this mani I needed something simple and natural. So I used two coats of Twilight for the base. Its my all time favorite glitter polish and I got it on sale at Sally's which makes it even better.
Then I dabbed on Last Friday Night at the base of my nails to create the half moon.
I used a white striper for the french tip and finished my nails off with a quick coat of clear to seal the deal!!!

My Effie Trinket Nails
Needed:
- Base coat (nude)
- Glitter (gold)
- Cosmetic Sponge
- Paper (to put nail polish on)
- Bright pink polish
- Dark pink polish
- Dark brown/red polish
- Top Coat (Twilight by Orly)
This was a very simple mani though there were a couple more steps then in most. First I put two layers of my nude nail polish. It's a polish I got from a christmas thing so I dont know what its called or the brand. Its shimmery and kinda goldish so it was perfect for this design.
Then I sponged on the pinks around the middle of my nail. I started with the bright pink and worked my way to the darkest one.
Then i sponged the gold glitter on the area that was still nude. I started with putting the polish on a paper and picking it up that way, but since it was a thick goopy glitter i just started putting it directly on the sponge.
Lastly I put a layer of Orly Twilight as a top coat. Its a very pretty silver micro glitter that kinda gives a linear glitter shine. After that I put a clear coat and ta da, my Effie Trinket nails!!!

Blue Glitter Ombre Mani
Needed:
- Base polish (sheer pink)
- Bottom glitter (OPI Last Friday Night)
- Tip Glitter (Claire's Bright Skies)
- Quick Dry Top Coat
This was really simple and really easy. I used OPI, Last Friday Night, first leaving only a half moon area unpainted. Then I used my Claire's Bright Skies for the tips. On my accent nail I just extended the tip a little longer to make it a little different but yet it still fit in.

Dots and Stripes
My fourth of July mani. It was partially inspired by my favorite nail blog, NailPolishWars. She had hers done with white and blue glitter bases but she had red with her and since I'm not a large fan of red I opted to do something simpler. I also don't have a stamper so all my designs hav to be done by hand. Another reason I went simple. But since tomorrow is the Fourth, dots and stripes sounded pretty cool and patriotic!!!
Shattered Pastels
This is the first time I used instagram for a picture and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. It's cool but each option tends to alter the original picture and that just seems like cheating. Also some of the best pictures are taken without special effects and films. They are also the most realistic and to me enjoyable. So I'm not sure if I really like instagram yet or not but I love this mani. Pastels have become my favorite accessories lately and this shows that off to a t. And it also shows off my new white shatter that I adore!!!
Shattered Obsession
If you didnt notice these are two different manis. I grouped them together because i didnt think you would understand my shatter obsession otherwise. Also I really love my elephant ring, i actually put it together all by my lonesome. It was quite fun.
I really like shatter cause its easy to do and interesting. It never looks the same. At the moment I now have three different shatter colors white, silver and black. Sadly my black has gotten goopy and unusable till i get polish thinner, but my other two are awesome. You will probably see them from time to time. So warning you now. I hope you enjoy!!!
Romanian Blue
This was a very simple and fum mani. Or if you prefer Romanian mani because of the black tips. I use bright blue from fingerpaints and then put a thin layer of glitter on top. To make them a little fancier I added the black tip. It was simple and easy and quite enjoyable to do and wear!!!

Caviar to Butterfly
I started off with a caviar DIY that I found on Seventeen. It's really easy. All you have to do is use a dotting tool and dot on up to seven colors. You start by making random dots and then clustering them together.
Then i got bored and added butterfly wings. I looked at various tutorials and pictures and did the basic look on my first nail and added to the others by making extra sections. Then i added a layer of Orly Twililght that gave it an extra glitter shine!!!
Cancer Awareness
Used:
- Strawberry Margarita (base)
- Glitter for accent nail
- Pink striper
- White striper
Hello! I did this mani awhile ago when we had a fundraiser for breast cancer at my school. I used Strawberry Margarita (one of my all time favorite OPIs) and pink and white strippers to make the ribbon. I put a layer of glitter on my accent nail before i made the ribbon so it would stand out more. I loved that this was simple and fun at the same time. I never want to add to my nails when I use this pink because its so pretty and this was a perfect way to show it off and to have a little fun at the same time.
Tiger Tips
Needed:
I got this idea from Seventeen magazine and had to try it out. It was really fun and easy. I used a striper brush because that's what I prefer and had on hand. You can use a small art brush if you prefer. I know I used a pink nail polish I got from claire's that is slightly neon and a sheer pink for a base. Hope you enjoy and please comment!!!
