Toe-tally fun

Since i didnt have time to take a pic of me nails i'm going to post about some of my favorite pedicure polishes and why i think they look so good.
*a bright almost neon pink (candy-licious by wet n wild)
This pink is fun, summery and makes even pale people like me look a little tan. The added bonus of only needing two coats just makes it even better.
*a slight sparkly black (twilight rays by maybelline color show or blackmail by wet n wild.)
I think blackmail is discontinued which is why i also added twilight rays to this bullet point. Black cremes can sometimes look really good or really not. By choosing a slight sparkly one its more versatile and looks good on lighter skin tones. It also makes black on its own look really good on nails.
*a creme navy (empower by avon)
This gives a statement by being dark, but since its not black it makes it more wearable and less goth. It makes your toes happy without being to overpowering.

Petals and stripes

Needed:
*pastel base color (Icing, preppy purple)
   *white striper (so easy, white)
*matte top coat (sinful colors, matte finish)
   *white polish (Milani, white)
*light green polish (CQ, mint green)
*medium green polish (essie, mojito madness)
*a few different hued pinks(OPI, bubble bath; Maybelline, Coral Crush; Wet n Wild, Candy-licious; Sally Hansen, Twisted Pink)

I love this look, besides the bubbles that of course showed up on half of my nails. Its fun and summery, even though its pastel. I also thought that if you wanted to change the purple to blue and make the flowers red, youd have a perfect patriotic mani, without being overly patriotic. I also did this look on one of my nail files, which ill post pics of at a later date.
To do this I used 3 coats of preppy purple as my base. I then added the stripes with my striper polish. After that I took out a plastic bag and my Kiss, Glass shine top coat. I used that on the plastic bag as a base first because it comes off the bag perfectly without ever ruining the other polishes. I then covered that with matte polish so the 'stickers' would match the finish on my nails and began making the roses on the bag. I used my dotting tool and the red stick you see in the pic below.
When they were dry I applied then with my matte polish. I usually apply the polish directly to the nail, but i decided to do them this way to try out the technique since I never did it before.

I hope you like them, and as always have a perfectly polished day!!!

Pastel stripes

Needed:

*creamy pink sheer base (OPI Bubble Bath)- 2 coats
*creamy semi sheer nude (Essie, Not Just a Pretty Face)- 1 coat
   *4 pastel/neon colors for stripes
          -Maybelline Color Show, Coral Crush
          -CQ, mint green
          -Avon, vintage blue
          -Avon, loving lavendar
*black polish for accents (Icing, black)
  *tape for accents

I started this out hoping to make a zebra stripe print, though I personally dont think I achieved that. It's more like a pastel stripe fest. I like it but dont really love it, at least not yet I might in a another day or two. Maybe.
I do like how the pastel colors look on the nude base, though I'm thinking they would have looked more zebra if they were on a different base.
Through this I learned, even though I LOVE cheetah print, zebra is just not my thing.
Well I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished day!!!

Cute binder clip

Needed:
    * binder clip
    * blue polish (vintage blue by avon)
    * glitter polish (105a by nyc)
Every once in awhile i like to show the multiple uses of polish. Painting with it is one of my favorite ways to use it, even when not on my nails.
So today im showing you a cute glitter gradient on an old binder clip.
I used 2 coats of vintage blue by avon and brushed on 105 a by nyc.
It makes it look fun, new and sparkly!!!
I didnt use any top coat cause i wanted to keep the texture of the clip so it looks like thats how it was originally made. Well enjoy and have a perfectly polished father's day!!!

Neon kiss

Needed:
   * pva glue
   * glitter polish (sheer kiss by unknown brand)
   * top coat (wet n wild fast dry)
   * matte top coat (sinful colors)
I used one coat of pva glue, two coats of sheer kiss, two coats of regular top coat to even it out, and one coat of matte top coat to mattify it and make it better.
This is the first time i tried pva glue and i have to say i was decently surprised, though that could be becasue im not that good at making even coats of glue yet.
I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished day!!!

To Space and Beyond...

I finally was able to sit and do a galaxy mani!!! Thank you Polly Polish. I've wanted to do one forever, but just didn't have the nerve to start. So here's what I used:
*Milani, white
*Wet n Wild, disturbia
*OPI, unknown mini
*Sally Hansen, Spark
*Aero pen, white
*Aero pen, silver
*Orly, twilight
*Avon, empower
*Wet n Wild, wild shine clear coat

My base is two coats of Avon, Empower. An amazing dark blue creme that they created for their Speak Out line, which is to help stop domestic violence. If you go slightly thick with it you can get it in one coat.

I used a makeup sponge to put on all the other colors but Orly, Twilight. Twilight is an amazing subtle glitter that I used to tie the look together and give it a starry sparkle. Then I used one coat of top coat to smooth out the sponging further and make them shiny.

I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished day!!!

Juicy Tips

Needed:
  * purple polish (Avon, loving lavendar)
  * orange polish (Pantone + Sephora, tangerine tango)
  * coral polish (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, coral reef)
   * top coat (wet n wild, wild shine clear)
I tried desperately to get spotted watermarbling to work, but of course it was once again a major fail. So instead i managed one spotted nail and added lilac tips to them all to give them a fun summery look.
I absolutely love the classic look with french tips but the traditional look always gets ruined in .3 secs for me. This way its fun and a little more durable.
I used two coats of Tangerine Tango and swiped on Loving Lavendar to the tips. The accent nail on my left hand had the spotted effect with a layer of Coral Reef. I love the look but it just wasnt happening. The polish kept drying or wouldn't spot so the tips were it.
I really do like the end result, especially since the colors contrast AND go so well together.
Oh and for anyone doing the Polly Polish challenge I can't wait to see your designs and this time I really tried to get the post on the right day but for some reason the schedule feature decided to publish it with the right date, but not on that date. Argh! Next time it's the old fashioned way.
Well i hope you like these and have a perfectly polished day!!!
