Straight Tips

This is the second time I used tape in a mani and I must say the results and pretty dang cool. I use scotch tape but I want to get striping tape because it smaller width wise and wouldn't need to be cut for width. (I'm not so good at that.) This was an awesome mani and I loved the colors. I had just gotten Avon Empower and couldn't wait to try it out. So here we go.
Needed:
  • Nude base (Kiss, sheer pink)
  • Light glitter base (Orly, Twilight)
  • Dark creme (Avon, Empower)
  • Top Coat (Hoof , clear)
This is Empower in the bottle, it's so beautiful.

This and the pic below are two coats of Kiss and one coat of Twilight, these pictures don't do Twilight justice. It looks almost like a holo but with a light grey jelly base. It's stunning in the sun. I actually wore my nails like this for two days before doing anything to them cause I liked it so much.

These last three are what I did with the tape. I wanted to practice so I used my ring finger and my thumb as accent nails.

This mani was really easy and pretty dang cool. I def need to use tape more often. Enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer.

Glitter Explosion

Okay today I did my nails with an awesome glitter that I wish I owned and an explosion tape design that I found a tutorial for here (http://nailside.blogspot.com/2011/08/tutorial-explosion-design.html). She also has many versions and different ways to do this design but I wanted it to be simple and glamoruous at the same time so that's why I did it this way. So let's begin.
Needed:
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Creme base coat (Essie, mojito madness)
    • this is the first Essie I ever bought and I love it. Plus it was on sale.
  • Glitter topcoat (Spark-led, Sephora by OPI)
  • Black Polish(Icing, Black)
  • Silver Polish (Icing, Silver)
This is two coats of mojito madness. I was surprised at how non smelling this polish was and how potent the color was.
Using the tutorial mentioned above I used black to make the first part of the explosion.
Then doing the same thing I finished the explosion by adding silver. I also applied one coat of the glitter to all my other nails.

Then I added glitter to the silver explosion to make it match the others just a little better.
And taa daa. Another mani for another day. I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer!!!

Shatter with a pinch of Glitter

This one is a little picture heavy because I wanted to put the polishes I used and a few pics of the base color used. It looks amazing in the sun!!! And since I dont know the name of it I felt I should at least leave as picture. So lets begin!!!

Needed:
  • Base coat (kiss sheer pink)
  • Base color (unknown OPI)
  • Shatter (white Avon)
  • Glitter Top Coat (Sparked Wet n Wild)

These are two of the polishes I used. The one on the left is a great strengthener that I used as a base. The one on the right is my unknown OPI that I got from a mini pack. I love how cute the little bottles are but the brushes they have are a pain.

This is what the pink looks like by its self. It's a little messy since I dont clean up during a mani. It has a really pretty purple shine to it that sadly my phone did not pick up all too well. This was three coats of it. Two was okay if you do thick coats for both but I did three thin ones so they would dry a bit faster.

And taadaa!!! After the shatter and the glitter you get this. I love this mani even though at first I wasn't 100% in love with it. It's so pretty and girly!!! Well that's all for today so enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer!!!

Simply Laced

This is the beginning of a few 'Simply' nail designs. I noticed I'm not that great with names so I thought this would be helpful for my and they sound good so here's Simply Laced. I'll put the needed list at the bottom along with what I did.

This was my left hand. I'm a righty so the design on this one is better than the one on my right hand.

This is the kinda sucky design on my right hand.

I then added two border nails because I really wanted to try out that idea.

Needed:
  • Nude base (Essie, Not just a pretty face)
  • black striper
  • glitter top coat
This was super easy but did involve a steady hand. I applied three coats of Not Just a Pretty Face. After that dried I used my black striper to put the french mani lines on all my nails. (even my accent ones).
Then I added the border and designs to my accent nails.
Lastly I applied a glitter top coat that I've had for a while now. It's a silver micro glitter  that has a rainbow shine to it.
And tada. I loved that this mani was simple and elegant and extremely pretty. I hope you enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer!!!

Easter Dots

Needed:

  • Light base coat (bite the bullet, wet n wild)
  • dotting tool
  • five colors for dots (milani white, fingerpaints carnation creation, a green by fingerpaints and evey on the eyes Sephora by OPI)

This was the perfect way to celebrate Easter on a time crunch. I used pastel colors and a few brights and dotted them on one side of the nail. I added white on my accent nail to give it a little pop. Add a top coat and ta da, a perfect Easter mani.
Enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer!!!

Metallic Ombre

Needed:
  • Silver metallic base (silver by Icing's)
  • light jelly glitter (Bright skies, Claire's)
  • Dark jelly glitter (Glitz & Glamour, Icing)
This was a really easy and simple mani, wow I say that a lot on this blog but it's absolutely true. First you start off with a metallic base. I didn't use a clear base coat because I know this color wouldn't destroy or dye my nails since I used it before.
Next using the light glitter paint 3/4 of the nail, leaving some of the light color visible.
After that use your dark glitter and cover just a bit below your tip. If you do this step while the light glitter is still wet they tend to blend better but if you put it on too early it could lead to bubbling which extremely annoys me.
You can add a top coat but you dont have too.
This mani was stunning and eye catching even though it was super simple. I kept staring at it even when I was supposed to be doing something else.
Well enjoy and have a perfectly polished summer!!!
