News Print Nails without a kit

Needed:
  • Newspaper
  • Base coat (preppy purple by Icing)
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Top Coat
  • Qtip or puff ball

First things first, you DO NOT NEED A KIT for newsprint nails. All you need are the materials listed above. You dont even need that steady of a nail. I couldnt believe it when I saw that a nail polish brand made a kit to create these nails. And the price was way higher then it needed to be.

1) Paint your nails a light base color. It has to be light so you can see the letters. Make sure your nails are 100 percent dry before moving on to the next step.

2) Cut out small pieces of newspaper that will cover your whole nail. Don't make them too big cause they'll be difficult to work with then.

3) Now you can either soak your nail quickly in the rubbing alcohol then use the q tip or puffball to push down the newspaper to the nail. Or just wet the q tip or puffball and use that to dowse the newspaper while its on your nail. Think of it like putting on a temporary tattoo, you have to get the newspaper thoroughly wet with the rubbing alcohol and pull off slowly so you don't smudge the writing.

4) Apply clear coat. You MUST  seal the design with a clear coat or it will smudge. It will also make the letters appear darker.

Don't be afraid to tilt the newspaper at different angles or use large words or letters for some nails and small ones for others. Either way you get an awesome mani and no matter how you do it, it will defeinently be unique.
